Evan Smolik

Evan Smolik was born and raised in a very musical family in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. His grandmother was a music teacher and his father would play guitar around him every day. Family has always been very important to him and he will be continuing his family’s legacy by pursuing his passion for music.

Evan grew up playing many sports including, but not limited to, basketball, soccer, and baseball. Baseball was extremely important in Evan’s early years. He played it from a very young age up until his love of music and theatre overtook his love of baseball in high school. In his senior year of high school, his love of activity shifted to weightlifting and working out. For the past couple of years, Evan has loved to spend his free time working out and meal-prepping. Pushing himself to be the best performer and human he can be.

Other than performing and athletics, videography has been another passion of his. In middle school Evan and his friends created a gaming YouTube group, they would play video games and post them to express themselves and for people to enjoy. In high school, his busy life made him stop his love for videography, however, in the past year this love has resurfaced and he has been recording and editing videos and pictures to express himself in other ways than theatre.

Evan’s love for theatre pushed him through middle school and high school. During the pandemic Evan decided that life was too precious not to do what you loved as a career, so he decided to apply for the musical theatre program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and was accepted. He has been pushing himself over the four years he has been there and was cast in roles such as Steven Kodaly in She Loves Me, Mayor Dobbs in Bright Star, and The Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance.

Evan’s dedication to his craft and support from his friends and family will continue to drive him to continue learning and growing in his post-collegiate career.
